Knights

I took on doing a few knights to help get the deck done. Thankfully it was not the full courts who were left, as it turned out I was ill and we had some complications with the watercolour/ink paper. Since I was requested to draw dragons again I decided to do dragons (old style, quicker to output than the newer Arabian art style so bonus). After the initial problems I decided to take to art channeling and redesign them.

Each one harbours the knight "aggressive pursuit" plus the keywords for the suits I was taught and a draconic rune for the element to add to the card.

Knight of Swords

He is the aggressive pursuit of conflict.

This dragon is from Li, the clan of the Red Chasm. They are the fire element of dragons. They embody passion, fury, inspiration, anger, and loyalty; everything that is fire. There may be some hesitation here; I know many are taught that swords are air, but I was trained swords are fire. It seems to be a regional thing. Fire does include a lot of air traits so it could be partly responsible for the confusion.

 Knight of Wands

He is the aggressive pursuit of communication.

Here is a storm dragon with his rune Mah (rune of the Rolling Thunder clan of dragons). They are about swiftness, intellect, and social interaction. The storm element is interesting. It is placed as a separate element because they contain all six elements within them (fire, water, earth, air, darkness, and light). It manifests when the elements are severely out of balance and need a swift re-balancing.

Knight of Pentacles/Coins

Aggressive pursuit of finances/business.

This one underwent the most change. At first I went with Ninathan (the forest kin dragons), but when I had to redo them after the paper failure I asked the runes which of the three types of earth element dragons wanted to represent the pentacles. Waethan stepped forward. Waethan are the dragons of crystal, minerals, and metals. They govern over ideas and thoughts that manifest with guidance. Here is a gold mineral dragon guarding over a hoard of golden coins.
