New Moon Aries- Sumerian vs Giger

New Moon in Aries spread is offering a bit of a different opportunity. This spread is all about fixing a problem in your life and support in fixing it through out the spread. I felt this was going to afford a great flex of my Sumerian deck.

  1. The Change: Choose a card that represents the change you would like to bring about
  2. Project: The most likely outcome/the future
  3. Protect: What you need to protect during this change
  4. Reject: Get rid of this
  5. Neglect: Don't forget this, it's important
  6. Suspect: Be careful, continue with caution around this.
  7. Magnet: Attract this as an ally.

Giger Deck- Shadow works

  1. The Change: The Moon
The Moon here has a different meaning, it is more akin to The Star in that it is about you imprinting your emotional feelings into the world around you, feelings arising that have been long neglected, and living between the hidden and real worlds (moonlit reflection dreams). I am struggling with an emotional turmoil and exhaution from putting my self and needs after everyone elses (sometimes neglecting them completely). So I chose this in order to heal this.
  2. Project: Judgement
The future is rooted in patterns of the past. Something new already carries it's end within itself because the force of it's future is stirring in the underground. Recognize the "destiny within yourself." This could be a bad omen since my past patterns are horrible ones of abusive men trying to kill me, abusive family, being disowned, etc. Hell this is a card I'd use on another cycle of this spread to try to break or transmute into a better thing like "breaking the patterns of the past" spellwork.
  3. Protect: The Hanged Woman
A necessary block to stall a "death wish" or pushing yourself too hard. Reconcile with yourself. Yes I've been pushing myself beyond what my body and mind are able to do even despite the warnings from my system many times. I've even cried for death a few times. I should be ashamed how many times versions of hanged man, star, and hermit have been thrown at me since the first as "this year slow your rear down, this is not the year to push it" yet I keep getting pushed and I go with it to avoid conflicts.
  4. Reject: The Wheel of Fortune
Corrects your goals and restricts excessive desires allowing you to take a more realistic approach to the options offered by society. Helps you to see further than the end of your nose. Brings your desires down to Earth and gives them a realistic base so they can be fulfilled. So is this telling me to reject the notion of abandoning lofty goals (like my huge art based goals that are not in line with my health)? Or is this telling me to reject lofty goals right now (which is more in line with the rest of the reading that is telling me that I need to mind sitting still in order to heal)? Perhaps the latter.
  5. Neglect: The Hermit
This speaks of your need to retreat from the world and rethink your situation. It is time to adapt your ego to the needs of the self. It is time to distance yourself from the entanglements from the physical plane. Since "neglect" means "don't forget, this is importatnt" it actually means that this is a dire need for me to retreat from people if I want to heal.
  6. Suspect: Strength
Dominating, inconsiderate strength deep inside. This draws life-force from subjugation of sexual cross tension. Primal symbol of power that stands for the origin of life. sexuality under the guise of strength is not a safety valve for suppressed aggression; it often brings the inner demon to light. I always had a hyper aggression around lust and passion instead of the normal human response to it. This is most likely telling me to watch out for falling into that trap with my emotional instability as of late.
  7. Magnet: The Lovers
You love to play the unattainable goddess and be the object of desire that everyone wants, yet no one can have. You will never be able to obtain the deep meaningful experiences you crave until you find what is missing within you. I have been hiding for many years, perhaps this says to get back into dressing myself and tending to my exterior. There is an old adage of "looking good lifts out moods and has an effect on our health." Even a small hair primp or lil makeup again when we go out together.
So again: Hang out, stop over working yourself, don't push yourself for lofty goals, stop letting others push you into sickness, heal by excessive rest --- every reading I've seen this year: Chinese NY, Psychic Zodiac NY from various psychics, several of my own....

 Sumerian Oracle

  1. The Change: Ama-Tiamat (Healing)
This card is a depiction of a healing meditation devoted to Ama-Tiamat. I chose this to best represent my longing to get out what is ailing me and restore my body to health.
  2. Project: Mušmahhu (3rd eye, cosmic snake transformation)
Seeing with your Inner Eye. Transformation into a serpent to explore the mysteries of life through the Cosmos. Pure primitive, elemental energy that is connected with our Mother Goddess. Creative power and transmutation. Seems that if I honour myself and do some transformation healing while letting my guardian protect me, I can reconnect with my creative power.
  3. Protect: Girtablullȗ (Grants you spiritual venom for attack/protect)
One of the cards I haven't fleshed out and will split eventually. He grants the use of spiritual venom to attack your enemies or fortify yourself. In the context of this place in the reading and my question of requesting healing, I'm going to assume it's for my healing (using venom to rid pain and viruses).
  4. Reject: Irakallu (Underworld)
This card is meant to be a mediation upon the Underworld. The full image (and accompanying narrative) will step the viewer through the journey into and down through it to confront various beings and come to terms with parts of themselves. This being in the reject position is interesting. As Irakallu being historically where humans went to be slaves it could be "drop the slave, self-defeatist" attitude or it could be "quit lamenting over the ancestor issue, one will appear if/when they do. There are better things to focus your energies to right now."
  5. Neglect: Kingu (Authority)
Kingu is the leadership for Tiamat's army, his card is authority, command, and leadership. With some issues at work and my feeling as a squishy slave lately even in my home a reminder to not forget my own authority (hell maybe even invoking Kingu in ritual one night) may go a long way to help my emotions.
  6. Suspect: Lahmu (Magickal warfare for attack or endowment)
I've yet to flesh out Lahmu's card as he's strategy, warfare, attack/defense/endowment, lightening, etc. I am going to be splitting him for easier reading later on. I'm going to assume since it's suspect position that his more positive roles are not the right ones. I guess I'm quietly watching my back for enemies or bad strategies. Can a dragon get a break?
  7. Magnet: Uridimmu (Ultimate destruction and death)
This version of Uridimmu is where he is an inconsolable destruction machine that eats hearts, kills everything in his path towards his target, and leaves nothing but blackness in his wake. I'm not going to worry about this as he's my lifelong protector and just aggressively saying "I got your back through this!"
