Full Moon in Scorpio- Giger vs Sumerian
The full moon in Scorpio spread has proved interesting. The Giger deck gave pretty much the same advice as previous months, but the Sumerian deck had some interesting moments.
Giger
1. How can I find more focus? The Magician
Personification of activity, self-realization, and the striving for power. She is easily excited by the prospect of adventure and exhibits an intense force. You know what you want and this enables you to achieve your goals. You have hundreds of ideas and want to achieve them all at once.
Once again, "reign myself in and focus my projects to one at a time or what can be achieved within time frames" feel.
2. What boundaries in my life need tending? Strength
This card stands for the inconsiderate strength that you often will only accept within yourself in the form of projection from those around you. It represents that darting, vivacious female lust that drives the witches to the Devil's Sabbath.
Seems to be saying that I need to soften myself.
3. Where in my life can I seek deeper meaning? The Sun
In the stream of this sweeping fire, you grow beyond your desires and turn your visions into reality.
eg: Gain deeper meaning by achieving the above goals and dreams to make my life less cog in the machine.
4. What is calling for transformation? Judgement
The future is rooted in patterns of the past. Judgement forces you to focus on your future; realize that your destiny lies within you.
Transition within this card would be to break or even transmute the patterns of my past. The Pluto retrograde is the perfect time to do this.
5. How can I express my shadow in a healthy way? The Empress
Personifies the living, nurturing side of the souls embedded in the depths of the goddess since the Great Mother (origin of all life). Under her influence you do not have any elevated ideals. You have all that you need to accomplish your goals within your Earthly means.
Sounds like another "bring your rear end back down to Earth" card.
Overall: oye, again with the "be realistic, stop over-reaching"
Sumerian Oracle
1. How can I find more focus? Mušmahhu (cosmic snake)
Seeing with your Inner Eye. Transformation into a serpent to explore the mysteries of life through the Cosmos. Pure primitive, elemental energy that is connected with our Mother Goddess. Creative power and transmutation.
The snake and creativity jump out again as solutions for how do I get more focus for my life. Yes I need to do more art and creative projects, but other readings keep warning of not to take on too much. I suppose daily doodles may work.
2. What boundaries in my life need tending? Mušmahhu (butterfly)
Seeing with your Inner Eye. Mušmahhu transforms you into a butterfly and places you in the Tree of Knowledge. You drink upon the nectar from its flowers gaining the alchemical knowledge of transformation, transmutation, reincarnation, and magick. She gains you enough knowledge to rival the Tree of Life.
This card would seem a good one, but it is in a boundary location so ... hmm. Perhaps this is "clean up and organize your gimoires" ?
3. Where in my life can I seek deeper meaning? Ugallu (access the 218)
This incarnation is the astral storm vortex, or Black Hole, that allows you access into the 218 (Black Dragon/Chaos) current so that you may access that raw energy to affect changes in your life.
This has a deeper meaning for me. Personally this card carries three layers: the basic (use storm to access chaos to change your life), a lesser card that represents my home plane, and one of the creative cards (Void energy is creation energy, the very thing artists tap into). Not only could this be telling me that I have doors open to make changes in my life (like the World card) but with the personal associations this could be telling me that I need to get back into my old religious practices vs the new ones others want me to try or even as simple as get back into a small bit of artisan daily.
4. What is calling for transformation? Kingu (leadership)
Kingu is the leader of Tiamat's legions as well as her second companion. He was granted ultimate authority when she gave him the Tablets of Destiny. He transfers that authoritarian energy over to you so that you may command what you need.
Yes I am working on gaining authority and leadership within myself. I'm working on shedding the abused and beaten down little girl and working on taking on that Kingu persona to regain my own strength and authority.
5. How can I express my shadow in a healthy way? Ugallu (destruction via storm)
In this incarnation Ugallu bestows the ability to harness the storm element for destruction purposes.
This is another questionable placement. How can I express my shadow in a /healthy/ way? Oh, use storm for destruction. While I'm not above wreaking some havoc now and again, and I personally believe that some controlled levels of aggressive discourse is healthy... I wonder if that is actually what is what is being said.
Notes of interest: Mušmahhu and Ugallu both had two versions of themselves in the spread, both having one aspect that had a "what? why you there?" response for the placement. This spread seems to be speaking to getting back to my old self via my creativity, with a side of "kick my enemy's rear end." Both seem to say I need to do projects, but not extend myself too much.
It's starting to look like Giger is taking a conservative role when it's read side by side with this deck, it is being less abrasive than the readings a couple years ago.
